Starch Content

Apart from this, unpolished and un milled rice is very healthy for the body as it contains lesser chemicals and retains more of its vitamins and minerals present in the bran. Apart from this, whole wheat and brown rice are excellent sources of fiber, which is extremely good for your digestion and motion. They contain a certain substance called roughage, which help in preventing constipation. 

The unrefined grain consists of three layers called, endosperm, bran and germ. Endosperm has high starch content and gives us the energy required by the body. The outermost layer called bran is rich in fiber and vitamin B. The germ is rich in proteins. Whole wheat or broken wheat bread is also rich in fiber. 

Brown rice and brown bread take more time to digest and hence your stomach remains full for a longer time. The secret for good health lies in a good diet and cereals, bread and other starchy food provide all the necessary ingredients for good health.
